About the event

Ashes to Ashes examines the quiet paradoxes that structure human desire: the simultaneous pursuit of control and surrender, belonging and autonomy, permanence and escape. Every gesture becomes a negotiation with impermanence -an attempt to inscribe meaning within instability. Art offers no resolution to these tensions; rather, it renders them legible, transforming loss into form, vulnerability into structure, and longing into measured intensity.

Set within the Asylum Chapel, a space shaped equally by devotion and decay, the exhibition unfolds within an architecture that holds endurance and erosion in continuous dialogue. Once a site of prayer and now a vessel of memory, the chapel shelters a different kind of faith - in gesture, material, and imagination. Here, Ashes to Ashes situates creation as neither resistance nor consolation, but as a lucid presence within transience, where ruin and renewal quietly coincide.
