CONCRETE JUNGLE

Concrete Jungle considers how visual order is made from the density of the world. Across painting, works on paper and spatial constructions, recognisable environments coexist with grids, repetitions, translucent planes and abstract systems. Architecture, landscape and organic form appear and recede; elsewhere, representation gives way to rhythm, interval and geometry. Different modes of seeing occupy the same field without settling into a single language.

The title is less a description of the urban landscape than a proposition about complexity itself. Here, the concrete meets the elusive: structures contain irregularity, patterns generate movement, and seemingly ordered surfaces remain open to instability. Moving between observation, memory and abstraction, Concrete Jungle approaches the world as something we continually organise into images - only to find that it exceeds the structures through which we attempt to understand it.
