ESCAPE VELOCITY

ESCAPE VELOCITY

Escape Velocity takes its title from the threshold required to break free from a gravitational field, reimagining this scientific term as a metaphor for movement, transformation and the desire to exceed existing conditions.

Bringing together works shaped by distance and intimacy, the room explores trajectories of flight, migration and departure alongside emotional states of longing, restlessness, vulnerability and wonder. A distinct personality emerges across the space - introspective yet searching, suspended between quiet solitude and the pull of elsewhere.

Yet escape is never presented as absolute freedom. Every trajectory retains the memory of what it attempts to leave behind. Escape Velocity considers the tension between gravity and release, belonging and departure, confinement and possibility — asking what must be overcome in order to move elsewhere, and what continues to travel with us once we do.
